why didn't i ask you people earlier? i could have avoided a sleepless night ...

which apartment should i put an application in on?

A) two bedroom at 17th st and 9th ave

$2650/mo
5th floor walk-up
renovated > NICE bathroom
dishwasher
decent closet space
HUGE kitchen for NYC
wood floors, moldings
landlord requires 1 month rent and 1 month security
heat and hot water included
near subways - A/C (just 2 blocks away), F, 2/3
cats require an extra half month security
washer/dryer IN UNIT
20 minute walk to work
TINY LITTLE living room
would have a double bed and SMALL dresser
could carve out a "dining area"

closet

B) one bedroom at 13th st and 8th ave

living room

bedroom

3rd floor walk up
not as recently renovated > ok bathroom
decent closet space
NYC kitchen
wood floors, moldings
landlord requires 1 month rent and 1 month security
heat and hot water included
near subways - A/C/E, L and the 1
cats are require an extra half month security
10 minute walk to work
HUGE spaces, not cut up into bedrooms
would have a queen bed, dresser and wardrobe
could easily carve out a "dining area"

Looks like you have to decide between cut up small spaces but great kitchen with washer and dryer and great space but small kitchen with no washer and dryer.
How is the fifth floor walkup? would that be hard to do every day?
How many stairs is that?
You know I always ask - Where is the kitty litter box going to go?
In the 2 bedroom you could have a bed for guest if you wanted to and a place to put the kitty litter box out of the way. Or since the living room is small you could expand your living space into the second bedroom and buy a small sleeper sofa and have a office space. Not much help am I? Mom

actually, the second bedroom is too small to do anything with other than have it as the "livingroom" and the livingroom as the "dining room." and by dining room, i mean 'small space near the kitchen.'

Any apartment where a Ferrari parks outside is the way to go. Also you can't put a price on having a washer/dryer in the apartment. Wait, can you?

Go with the washer and dryer in unit. Don't want to be running out at all hours of the night hunting a washerette in dofwntown NYC! Also, cats need their own space.The main thing, tho', do you feel safe there? If all else fails, flip a coin....Love you, kiddo

do you cook? will you have people over? will two sets of stairs make a difference every day? are you claustrophobic? will 10 min difference in getting to work make a diff? will the stairs and walk be your workout - or not? how often do you do laundry - every other day or every two weeks? - those are the real questions! and the answers will make your decision for you! always here to help - KT

B - where will you put all your clothes and shoes? Plus its only 3 floors to walk up. You can just drop your laundry off like all NYC'ers do! And HEAT is included!
