boy: "whenever you look at them, you find yourself singing 'you are the wind beneath my wings'."
i disagree. and, 'girl's' question has me wondering how to tell when you're in love and not just a teenager with a heart full of hormones or a character in a movie that has to finish up in 89 minutes.
when you're in love there's silence. because nothing need be said.
when you're in love, you can't breathe. because when they're gone it's like there is no air. and when they're near they take your breath away.
love is a punch to the gut every single say. because it affirms itself in moments both of spontaneity and of the most mundane.
love is when you can miss someone when they're sitting right next to you. and feel their presence in an old tshirt and faded memory.
when you're in love you're blinded by the light of possibility. and you hope you can be enough to help keep that light alive and burning.
you know you're in love when you fall every day.
unless, of course, you're bette midler in beaches. which i'm not. not even in the shower. or, if you're watching the decoy bride. (which was actually a pretty cute movie. i was a little afraid of it. but i have a cold. and have exhausted my interest in watching old tv pilots.)
